Here is a PRS Singlecut Private Stock solidbody electric guitar from 1999. This is the second prototype of PRS's Singlecut guitars and number 80 of their 'Private Stock'. It featuring a beautiful Tiger eye finish and Brazilian rosewood fretboard.
The Private Stock program was launched by PRS in 1996 and has produced some of their most exceptional one off guitars. These are the highest level custom shop guitars available from PRS and feature woods from Paul's private vault. This Singlecut is prototype #2 built in 1999 and the design made its official debut to the PRS lineup in 2000 and has remained a staple ever since.
This guitar was designed and handmade by Joseph Knaggs, Dave Hazel, Chris Bavaria and Paul Reed Smith. It features hand picked South American mahogany for the neck and body, Tiger Stripe maple top and Brazilian rosewood fretboard. The body was subtly hollowed out to reduce the weight and add to the resonance. The remarkable figure of the maple cap is enhanced by the Tiger eye coloring and hold hardware. The stunning atheistic is topped off with the eagle headstock inlay and signature birds fretboard inlay. The electronics feature PRS McCarty bass and treble humbuckers with a three-way toggle switch and single volume and tone controls. The collectible is in excellent overall condition, with almost no play or fret wear.
