This brand-new Pattison Tubaphone Openback 5-String Banjo features a flame-maple capped 12 inch Black Walnut. The neck is Black Walnut neck with an Indian Ebony fingerboard and a Curly Maple inlay set focused on Loons.
This is a new instrument recently delivered to us by Ian Pattison from his shop in Renfrew County, Ontario. &It is well built and finished, and plays well with plenty of volume and projection.
Sold without case but we can provide a suitable case.
Materials and Construction
This Pattison Tubaphone Openback 5-String Banjo uses a 12-inch Black Walnut pot, capped with flamed Maple. As the name suggests, there is a Tubaphone style tone ring along with 18 tension hooks. The Black Walnut neck is attached with a pair of co-ordinator rods, and has an Indian Ebony fingerboard and Ziricote headstock overlay. The inlay set is Loon-themed, with two in flight and four at rest.
The finish is an oil and wax combination.
Hardware includes a Gotoh tuner set with black buttons, a Pattison design tailpiece and a compensated bridge.
