The National RM1 Resophonic Mandolin hearkens back to the early days of Resophonic instruments, when the concept was being applied wherever more volume was needed.
Here we have the Maple-Walnut version, which isn’t just a great ice cream flavour. Walnut was used as an instrument wood for centuries, and brings a slight mellowness to the tone. It pairs well with the top end and brilliance provided by the Flame Maple top, short scale and single 9.5 inch resonator cone.
The neck is also Flame Maple, and carries a bound Ebony fingerboard. The finish is a Sunburst on the top and neck, and natural on the back; the hardware finish is antiqued brass. These instruments are top quality and have the distinctive resophonic tone.
