The National NRP Triolian Black Rust Resophonic Guitar is the 12-fret Maple neck version of the Mahogany-neck NRP Black Rust, which in turn is based on the 1930’s National Duolian.
Using a standard single cone, metal body with unrolled F-holes, the National NRP Triolian Black Rust Resophonic Guitar differs only from the NRP in the use of Maple for the neck, rather than Mahogany. All the other dimensions, materials and specifications are the same.
These National NRP Triolian guitars have a wonderful, rich and penetrating tone. They do tend to be louder and project well; these characteristics were the original point of the resonator cone design, before electric amplification became available.
