DESCRIPTION:
Here is a Larrivee LSV-11 Steel String Acoustic Guitar from 2010, a model purpose built for fingerstyle playing and quite suitable for professional level use.
Condition and Construction
This specific Larrivee LSV-11 example is in very good overall condition with only a few minor cosmetic dings and scratches, primarily two finish scratches on the back. It plays really well up the neck.
A passive LR Baggs under-saddle pickup is installed for amplifying live performances, or use with a plug-in tuner onstage. The volume control is tucked under the bass side of the sound hole.
Sold with the original black hard shell case.
The name of this model expands to 'L' body style, 'S' for Small Body, 'V' for Venetian (rounded) Cutaway, and '11' indicates the wood choices and decoration levels. The top is Sitka Spruce, the sides and back Indian Rosewood, the body blocks, linings and neck are Mahogany and the head plate, bridge and ivoroid bound fingerboard are Ebony. The inlay set on the bridge wings and fingerboard position markers and the Rosette are Abalone. The headstock decorations include a silver border and a Mother of Pearl Larrivee logo. Tuners are sealed Larrivee models in Chrome.
The 'classic' Larrivee L body design developed from Larrivee's classical guitar background and influence by Edgar Monch is comfortable to play and provides a very well balanced tone and a full, rich representation throughout the guitar's range. The rounded, venetian style cutaway gives the player access to the upper frets and the beautiful vine abalone fretboard and bridge inlays offer a classy visual component.
Model History
Introduced in 2006, the LSV-11 model was designed in collaboration with the great Tommy Emmanuel, with a focus on fingerstyle playing. Key to this are a wider fingerboard spacing (1.8 inches, 45.72mm) and shorter scale length (24.8 inches, 320mm). The model was discontinued around 2013.
