Description
This KoAloha KCM-00 Concert Koa Ukulele was created in the Kaka’ako area of Honolulu, Hawaii during August of 2018. It is in very good clean condition with vanishingly light wear in every respect.
This is a top quality instrument that appears to have not been played much. The tone is full and warm with good treble presence and while it sounds good now, its tone should improve with use.
This instrument is sold with a professional grade red Crossrock CRF2030CU Concert Ukulele case.The case contains a bag with the extra case straps.
Construction and Materials
Built using a combination of hand and CNC work, this excellent Ukulele combines locally sourced solid Koa wood (Acacia koa), a Mahogany CNC-shaped neck, and Ebony fingerboard and bridge. The dot position markers and headstock KoAloha logo are Paua Abalone.
The bracing is a mixture of traditional ladder style braces across the top and back, plus an innovative one piece 'hollow box' brace between the soundhole and bridge. This one piece center brace provides support for the top, back and sides.
The tuners are KoAloha geared models with 'pink coral' buttons. The nut and saddle are by Tusq. The finish is a clear gloss with light filling, allowing finish sinking over time.

"Our Hawaiian Koa series began in 1995 with one model, the humble soprano. Alvin hand crafted them one at a time and even made his own labels out of wood. While our ukulele have been through a series of improvements, they still ring with the same signature KoAloha sound. As a tone wood, koa produces a nice harmony of warmth and brightness.
The tonal balance of these instruments is a fit for all types of music. From finger picking to strumming, from classical to jazz, the Hawaiian Koa series will play and sound great. All of our koa instruments are produced in our factory in Kaka’ako."
