Description
This Jeff Sigurdson Flamenco Negra Guitar was built during 2014 at Vancouver, BC and is in very good condition in every respect. It has a full, developed voice with added depth from the Rosewood sides and back, not as bright as a Cypress bodied Flamenco Blanca. This example has a 655mm (25.78 inch) scale length.
Sold with its original hard shell case.
Materials and Construction
Combining a Spruce top, Indian Rosewood for the bridge, back and sides, Spanish Cedar for the neck and blocks and Ebony for the fingerboard, this is a very nice guitar. The neck joint appears to be a faux slipper, and the headstock shape seems influenced by Felipe Conde. The tuners are Sloane models with black buttons and both the nut and saddle are compensated. The compensated nut can sometimes have a surprisingly positive impact on tuning. The finish is French Polish, and a pair of Golpeador or tap plates are mounted to the top.
Jeff Sigurdson has been building guitars in the Vancouver area since the late 1980's, taking a formal course in guitar construction and studying under Michael Dunn. Most of his work is now custom, with many options available.
