DESCRIPTION:
This Douglas Harrison K&H bass guitar is built by Harrison and Jay Kiefte, based on Harrison's popular thinline, semi-hollow GB guitar design. Brand new, this bass has a completion date of July 02, 2024. It looks great, plays extremely well, and its light weight helps make it very comfortable to wear. Currently strung with round wounds, it is tonally very versatile.
Hand-built and hand-carved, this bass features a Torrefied, flamed arched Maple top with F-holes, paired with a Sipo body. Sipo or Utile is often referred to as African Mahogany but is in the same genus as Sapele, also in common use for guitars.
The neck has Stainless Steel frets and is built of three sections, an outer pair of Torrefied Maple sections and a center of flamed Maple. The fingerboard and binding are also flamed Maple. The tailpiece top layer and the head plate are a burled Maple.
The tuners are Hipshot Ultralite models, and the tailpiece is custom made by Harrison. The pickups are custom single and double 'J' type by Douglas Harrison, in Maple casings; the tone control is a push/pull pot setting the bridge pickup to series or parallel configuration.
