DESCRIPTION:
This Guild X375 Stratford Archtop Electric Guitar shown here was built during 1954 at the early New York plant. Introduced in 1953 as a three-pickup archtop electric, the Guild X375 Stratford was the natural finish version of the X350, and in 1958 the X375 was renamed the X350B and the model was discontinued in 1965. These are now fairly rare.
Starting with a 16.75 inch, full depth, cutaway, F-hole body of Laminate Maple and Spruce, the Guild X375 also used a Maple neck with a bound Brazilian Rosewood, 25.5 inch scale fingerboard and Rosewood bridge. The fingerboard inlays are faux pearloid, while the headstock logos are Mother of Pearl. The tailpiece is the classic Guild G-cutout harp.
The Guild X375 model sported three Franz pickups, master volume and tone, and a six-pushbutton pickup selector array. The control plate and pushbutton tips have been replaced. The installed Grover Roto-Matic tuners are also older replacements. The original Brazilian Rosewood bridge top has been replaced with a fairly wide-travel tune-o-matic type. The Guild-logo pickguard is original.This guitar has been re-fretted and plays very well!
A non-original black arched top hard shell case is included.
Guild has recently re-issued this model, but not with the pushbutton pickup selector!
