The Guild D26 NT Natural Top Dreadnought steel string acoustic guitar was built in 1995 for the Guitar Center chain, with Spruce top and arched laminate Mahogany back. While based on the D25 model, it is a bit fancier and has a narrower, tapered peghead.
This Guild D26 NT is in good condition with some play wear, mostly pick marks on the bass side of the top from enthusiastic strumming. Fret wear is light.
These guitars are known for volume and a full voice with plenty of projection, and better articulation compared to the D25.
The original hard shell case is included.
Materials and Construction
The D26 construction was based on the D25 model, with solid Sitka Spruce top and solid Mahogany sides, but the laminate back is heat-pressed on an arched form. This approach gives the back enough strength to not require bracing. The body blocks, linings and neck are Mahogany, and the bridge and fingerboard are Indian Rosewood. Tuners are gold Grover Roto-Matics and there are no electronics.
Production of the D26 NT is sometimes listed as 1994-1996, but the Guild serial number listings only show numbers for 1995.
