Fender Telecaster Bass Guitar, 1969 [USED]

Here is a Fender Telecaster Bass guitar from 1969 with an Olympic white finish. This bass shows the typical wear of a working instrument of its age, with orange discoloration of the finish due to nicotine exposure. The face plate on the headstock has turned the same color as it is also a nitrocellulose finish unlike the rest of the neck which is finish with polyurethane.

There is some lacquer checking on the body and lots of chips out of the finish along with other scratches and dings. There is a fair bit of wear on the edges of the fret board and one large chip out of the finish on the back of the neck around the 4th fret. The bridge is non original and extra holes have been drilled in the plate. The pot codes are dated to 1967. The single coil pickup provides a nice bite to the tone and it plays cleanly up the neck.

These basses are especially sought after by collectors due to their relatively low production numbers and their unique combination of classic Fender design with the low-end thump that defined rock, jazz, and R&B in the late '60s and early '70s.

Comes with original hard-shell case.
