This lovely Fender Stratocaster Sunburst dates to early 1971. It's in overall good, largely original condition with a professional refret to the Indian Rosewood fingerboard making it a very playable vintage model.
The three-tone sunburst polyester finish has some natural fading. There is slight chipping around the neck plate, and a few small dings and dents from real-life use.
On this Fender Stratocaster Sunburst, the neck date is 22 March 71, the pickups are dated to February 1971. Very shortly after this guitar was built, Fender shifted to the three-bolt MicroTilt neck joint. The truss rod adjustment is still at the body end; the 'bullet' head-end adjuster appeared at the end of 1971. There is no walnut 'Skunk Stripe' on the back of the neck, meaning that the truss rod was mounted from the front before the Rosewood fingerboard was added. The pickups are original and the electronics include the stock three-way switch.
The original black rectangular Fender hard shell case is included. Its latches and hinges are in good working order, and the pocket contains the 'ashtray' bridge cover, original backplate, saddle and screws, and the trem arm.
