Here is a Fender Jazz Bass in Sunburst finish, built during 1968 at the CBS-owned Fullerton plant. It is in overall good condition with expected wear to the finish. It has recently had a fret dress and setup at The Twelfth Fret Repair Shop, and plays very well.
The Fender Jazz Bass appeared in 1960 as Leo Fender's second complete bass design and was aimed at the mostly jazz bassists who had not yet switched to electric. To that end, the Jazz Bass used a much narrower neck and a pair of single-coil pickups. The body is Ash or Alder paired with a Maple neck with, until 1966, a Rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. The first models had 'slab' Rosewood fingerboards. In August 1962 once Fender had worked out the tooling, the fingerboard was an arched veneer, and in 1965 binding and block position markers were added.
Sold with a Mono gig bag.
