Here is a Fender Jazz Bass guitar from 1964 which has been refinished in black gloss. From Marcus Miller to Jaco Pastorius and countless others the Fender Jazz Bass has become one of the most used electric basses in history.
This Fender Jazz Bass has a neck stamp of July 7 1964 and the pots are dated 1964 as well. It has been refinished in black gloss at some point in its life but the rest is all original. The maple neck with Brazilian rosewood fretboard feels very comfortable to play.
There is a little bit of finish wear on the back of the neck but its not very distracting. The iconic F logo bridge cover is still in place where many basses from this era are missing theirs. There is lots of honest cosmetic play wear on the black finish but it looks great on a bass of this age. There is one larger chip on the lower side (see photos). The frets have been dress down and have some very light wear but is playing cleanly up the neck.
It comes with the original Fender black hardshell case.
