The EB Music Man StingRay5 HH was the five-string, two pickup version introduced in 2005 as an extension of the classic StingRay bass, itself first appearing in 1976. These solid, well built and versatile 5-string basses became very popular and have been relied on by professional basses.
Dating to October 3, 2007 at San Luis Opisbo, this EB Music Man StingRay5 HH in Vintage Burst is in very good, clean condition with vanishingly small amounts of wear. It still has the original stickers on the back, and there is virtually no fret wear, indicating that it hasn't had a lot of use! The body is Ash, the neck Maple with an Indian Rosewood fingerboard. The colour-matched headstock carries a 4+1 set of Music Man open gear tuners, and the compensated nut can be a remarkable aid to accurate tuning along the neck. The bridge is Music Man's five-saddle model. For electronics, the Stingray 5 HH has two humbucking pickups, a five-position lever switch, and a 3-band active preamp with volume, treble, mid, and bass controls. The pre-amp is powered by a single, standard 9v battery, readily accessed through the rear-mounted battery box.
This is a great bass, in very good, clean condition. It plays well, and is ready to go!
Here's the builder on the EB Music Man Stingray5 HH:
"The first bass designed by Ernie Ball Music Man, the Stingray 5 was unveiled in 1987 and has been an industry standard for extended range basses ever since. With its powerful punchy sound, the added flexibility of additional pickups and a comfortably contoured body the StingRay5 satisfies even the most demanding of players. "
Sold with its original molded hard shell case.
