The Eastman E20P Thermo-Cure Acoustic Guitar is Parlor guitar – close to the ‘Single O’ body size dating to the end of the 19th century.
As with many other models from this builder, the Eastman E20P uses all solid wood construction. The top is Adirondack Spruce, while the sides and back are Indian Rosewood. Imbued with Eastman's revolutionary Thermo-Cure technology, this instrument undergoes a unique curing process to enhance its tonal properties and structural stability.
The body blocks and slotted-peghead 12 fret neck are Mahogany, with Ebony used for the pyramid style bridge and unbound fingerboard. The body is bound with a layer of Herringbone style purfling, as found on many instruments up to the start of World War 2. Herringbone use ended at that point, because the primary supplier was in Germany, and resupply was impossible.
Though the Eastman E20P Thermo-Cure is a small body guitar, it has a full, rich sound and is ideal for many musical styles, particularly those based on fingerstyle techniques. The neck is one of the widest available on stock steel string acoustic guitars at 1.81 inches or 46mm, allowing extra space for complex chord forms.
