Description
This 2017 David Ryer OM Cutaway pairs Sitka Spruce and Birdseye Maple, and features a Macassar Ebony Laskin style armrest and rear comfort contour.
This interesting, well built and very good condition instrument was built near Ashton, Ontario in mid 2017 based on the signature and date of 17 June 2017 written on the inside of the top. It plays well and has a clear, bright sound as expected from a Maple body.
Sold with a Guild-badged arched top hard shell case.

Construction and Materials
Using the 15-inch wide squared shoulder OM (Orchestra Model) dimensions as a starting point, the David Ryer OM Cutaway adds a sharp Florentine cutaway and a hybrid bolted tenon neck joint.
The top is Sitka Spruce, paired with Birdseye Maple for the sides, back, and neck components. Macassar Ebony is used for the body binding, heel cap, rosette center, Laskin-style arm rest and the comfort cut on the rear bass side waist.
The body blocks and linings are Mahogany, and the fingerboard, bridge, head plate and backstrap are unfigured Ebony.
The tuners are Gotoh 301 models with chrome finish and buttons. The nut and saddle are bone. A 3-element set of K&K passive transducers is mounted to the bridge plate.
