The Collings MF Mandolin features an Adirondack spruce top and beautiful satin sunburst finish.
Based on the classic F style carved top and back mandolins from the early years of the Twentieth Century, the Collings MF mandolin is a visually simplified but extremely high quality instrument.
Building in Austin, Texas, Collings produces very well built guitars and mandolins, and their nitrocellulose lacquer finish quality is second to none. The Collings MF pairs a carved Adirondack Spruce top with Eastern Flame Maple for the neck, sides, and carved back. The fingerboard, bridge and head plate are Ebony, and the inlaid Collings logo is Mother of Pearl. The fingerboard has a compound radius crown, from 5.5 inches at the nut to 11.625 inches at the body.
For hardware, a Collings tailpiece anchors the strings and the tuners are Gotoh nickel-plated models with black buttons. And that’s it!
This F style mandolin sounds as good as it looks!
