Here is a Cervantes 'Milenia' Concert Classical Guitar, built by Alejandro Cervantes in 2011 and featuring an elevated fingerboard.
Construction and Materials
This high-end, handcrafted classical guitar model features a lattice-braced Engelmann Spruce top to deliver excellent power, sustain, and responsiveness, paired with solid Indian rosewood for the 12-hole bridge, sides, back and head plate. The body blocks and linings are Mahogany, while the neck is Peruvian cedar with an ebony fingerboard and plays smoothly. The neck joint appears to be a dovetail type, rather than the Spanish 'slipper foot' where the sides slot into the neck block and heel.
The elevated fingerboard, inspired by Thomas Humphrey’s design, enhances upper-register access while maintaining the instrument’s elegant traditional aesthetic. The top is finished in French polish, while the back and sides are protected with a lacquer finish for durability. The tuners are excellent Gotoh models with gold coloured plate and black buttons.
Overall, this guitar is in very good condition, showing only light cosmetic wear. There is a small blemish below the bridge at the high E string, but it is purely cosmetic and does not affect performance. It is structurally sound and delivers a clear, articulate voice with superb projection and great playability.
