This is a lovely and pristine 2007 Bourgeois Custom OMC or Orchestra Model Cutaway, using an Adirondack Spruce top with Herringbone purfling, Indian Rosewood for the back, sides and headplate. This guitar features a neck made of Mahogany and a fingerboard and Pyramid-style bridge crafted from Ebony, resulting in a sophisticated finish.
This example is in very good, clean condition with very little play wear.
Based on the classic Martin Orchestra Model or 000 size body, this Bourgeois Custom OMC dates to 2007 and is in very good original condition. This guitar has very light, negligible wear. The Adirondack Spruce top is a bit stronger and stiffer than Sitka Spruce typically is, and provides a bit more volume and clarity, perhaps 'headroom' in the top end when played aggressively.
The installed tuners are nickel plated Waverly models with metal 'butterbean' buttons. The compensated saddle and nut are bone.No electronics are installed.
A subtle 'Vintage' touch is the use of herringbone binding around the top. Martin guitars used this as a decoration until early into WW2, and then stopped; this is one of the more obvious ways pre-War Martins can be identified. However, it seems that the reason for stopping its use was simply that the factory ran out, their supplier was a German firm, and they just could not get more! Herrringbone binding is now often used to evoke that pre-War appearance.
The OM size body is mid-sized and very comfortable, and delivers a full, balanced tone, excellent for fingerstyle playing. The entire frequency range is nicely and evenly represented. Overall, this is a very satisfying guitar to sit and play.
The original hard shell case is included.
