The Bourgeois M5-A Style Mandolin has been designed to provide a complex, expressive voice and a lifetime of inspiration. This mandolin features torrefied Adirondack spruce and flamed maple. The process of torrefaction involves "roasting" timber in a high temperature oxygen free environment. This removes sugars and moisture and provides a lighter weight, added stability and durability along with a lovely rich darker color to the wood. The tonal benefits are an instrument that sounds more mature and played in with additional warmth.
Handcrafted in Beijing using the finest materials and custom hardware, this mandolin delivers excellent playability and tonal performance.
