The 12-string guitar is the ultimate instrument for many well-known singer-songwriters. Its unique sound is easily recognizable. Moreover, when carefully fine-tuned, the 12-string guitar is as easy, if not easier to play than the conventional 6-string guitar. The 6 additional strings on a 12-string guitar, tuned in unison or octave, are smaller in diameter and the usual position of your fingers for chords remains exactly the same. Moreover, they bring harmonic richness, creating a sense of extended space.
