The Alhambra 5P Classical Guitar is the second entry in Alhambra’s Conservatory series, for the more serious student; a full size guitar with Cedar or Spruce top and Rosewood back and sides.
The Alhambra 5P uses traditional Spanish construction methods, tying the body and neck together. This model features full body and scale size, Cedar top, Laminate Rosewood back, sides, solid Rosewood bridge and headplate, an Ebony-reinforced Mahogany neck with Ebony for the fingerboard. The use of laminate Rosewood for the back and sides increases stability for the guitar in the situations a student will encounter, without sacrificing much tone.
This is an excellent instrument for the advancing student of Classical guitar or Flamenco. Many modern Flamenco artists are using Rosewood guitars, or Flamenco Negra, to produce a warmer sound. While Flamenco guitars differ from strictly Classical models in a geometric feature – the neck angle is such that the action can be quite low – the 5P can easily be adapted to Flamenco use.
