DESCRIPTION:
This Takamine EC132SC Cutaway Classical Guitar dates to March of 1983 and is in good working order, with honest play wear to the top, primarily as a few marks from enthusiastic strumming and some smaller pressure marks. It plays well, and its voice has developed nicely. There is plenty of saddle above the bridge, allowing for lower action height should that be desired. Later models included a dual-action truss rod - this one does not.
The Takamine EC132SC is a cutaway classical guitar with built in pickup system, introduced in the early 1980's and discontinued in 2019. This very nice, well designed and built guitar features a solid Red Cedar top, Indian Rosewood for the sides, back, head plate, fingerboard and bridge. Mahogany is used for the linings, body blocks and neck.
Like many Takamine models, the EC132SC carries a pickup system with active pre-amp and EQ, the controls located near the bass side of the heel; the battery is accessed through the bass side of the sound hole. Takamine found great success in the 1970's and 1980's with their pickup systems, and their steel string models were found on many Country stages.
This model was built at Takamine's plant in Sakashita, Japan. In 2005, Sakashita was merged with other nearby areas into the city of Nakatsugawa.
