DESCRIPTION:
Introduced in 1993, the Rickenbacker Model 350V63 Liverpool JetGlo (black) finish is an updated version of the model 325 used by John Lennon, the key difference being a longer scale length. The 325's used a quite short 21 inch scale length, which allowed some fairly complex chord shapes without long stretches; the neck was also rather narrow allowing for fingertip barres! The 350v63 uses a 24.75 inch scale length and wider fingerboard, easier for many players to deal with. It's very similar to the Model 355 JL John Lennon model, without the signatures.
Originally designed by Roger Rossmeisl, the Rickenbacker Model 350V63 Liverpool features a fully chambered Maple body and Maple neck with an unbound dot marker Rosewood fingerboard. The hardware starts with a set of Kluson-style tuners and stamped, chromed trapeze tailpiece, and Rickenbacker's standard six-saddle bridge with cover. The electronics start with three vintage-style 'Toaster Top' pickups, a three-way pickup selector and Rickenbacker's Mono five-knob controls. The schematic for this circuit can be found at this link.
This Rickenbacker Model 350V63 Liverpool example dates to 2008 and like all other Rickenbackers was built at Santa Ana, California. It is in very good condition with just a few small dings and very minor fret wear. It plays well, and the 'standard' 24.75 inch scale length, with and its light weight, makes it a very comfortable guitar to play and wear.
