Here is a Masaki Sakurai Standard Classical Guitar from 1982. It is a fine example of Japanese luthier craftsmanship from a period when Japanese classical guitars were gaining international acclaim. Masaki Sakurai, the nephew and apprentice of the legendary master luthier Masaru Kohno, continued his uncle’s legacy while developing his own refined approach to guitar building.
This 1982 Standard model reflects the influence of the traditional Spanish school, with a clear, warm tonal palette and excellent projection. It is well-built with a high-quality cedar top and Indian rosewood back and sides. Overall, this example is in good shape with just a little bit of cosmetic wear. The neck profile, and it has a well-balanced sound across all registers.
It comes with a generic vintage hardshell case.
