Martin 000-28M Eric Clapton Limited Edition #371 Acoustic Guitar Sunburst, 2009 [USED]

The Martin 000-28M Eric Clapton Limited Edition #371 acoustic guitar appeared for 2009 as a run of 461 instruments, a direct reference to Clapton's 1974 '461 Ocean Boulevard' solo album. That album title refers to the Florida house where Clapton lived during the recordings; the next tenants were the Bee Gees for their album 'Main Course'.

Based on a standard 000-28, the Martin 000-28M Eric Clapton Limited Edition pairs a Carpathian Spruce top with Madagascar Rosewood for the sides, back and head plate. The body blocks and neck are Mahogany, with Ebony for the bridge and bound 24.9 inch scale fingerboard. The position markers are a combination of an abalone snowflake within a Mother of Pearl diamond shape, and in a subtle touch the rosette includes a herringbone ring in Abalone. The top also has a herringbone purfling layer. For hardware, the tuners are Waverly open gear models, and the nut and compensated saddle are bone. The finish is a medium dark vintage style sunburst. The label identifies the guitar as an 000-28M Eric Clapton Limited Edition, #371 of 461 and is signed by Eric Clapton.

This Martin 000-28M Eric Clapton Limited Edition example is #371 of the 461 limit and was built during 2009.It is in exceptional condition with virtually no wear. It appears to have spent most of its life so far in its case, properly humidified. &Having had little playing time, its voice has not fully developed, but it is rich, full and evenly balanced across the harmonic range.

The original Geib-style hard shell case by TKL is included and contains the key, end pin and Martin docs.
