DESCRIPTION:
The Jackson Soloist SL2H Electric Guitar has been around since the early 1980's pushing - or creating - the envelope of the SuperStrat concept.
Featuring a neck-through design, a pair of humbucking pickups, a Floyd Rose system and dramatic looks, the Jackson Soloist SL2H delivers exactly what it advertises in a solid, reliable package.
Woods used on the Jackson Soloist Sl2H and other Soloist version have varied slightly over the years and model shifts, but the core is a Maple center section, built up to shape with 'wings' of Alder, Poplar, Mahogany or Okoume, and with an Ebony fingerboard. Some translucent-finish models add a figured Maple cap, but solid colour models use plainer woods.
On this 2006 example, the body wings appear to be Alder under the gloss black poly finish. The Ebony fingerboard gets Jackson's characteristic 'Shark Fin' inlay set. The serial number is stamped into the fingerboard just after the 24th fret.
This guitar has been used as intended and has lots of finish chipping and wear to prove it. The largest chip is near the tail strap pin, and is entirely cosmetic though in performance, likely hidden by a strap. The action is fairly low and slick, with plenty of 'traction' for string bending provided by the higher fret wire. Wear to the frets themselves is light. The original pickups have been replaced and a diMarzio MegaDrive pickup is in the bridge position. The guitar plays well and cleanly.
The original black rectangular molded hard shell case is included and contains the trem arm.
