Here is a Gibson Les paul Classic Gold Top from 2013. The Gibson Les Paul Classic first appeared in 1990 and has been a staple part of their lineup, in a variety of iterations and finishes, ever since. The iconic Gold Top finish has been around since 1952 and was originally the only finish available on the Les Paul model until 1954, when the Les Paul Custom in gloss black was introduced. Sunburst finishes were not offered on Les Paul's until 1957, along with Gibson’s new Humbucking pickup.
This example is in very good overall condition with only very minor playwear. It has had the pickups swapped out and now has a Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck neck humbucker and 59 bridge humbucker. The Gold top finish looks great. There is a some lacquer checking lines on the lower bout top and around the control knobs and toggle switch but other than that this is a very clean guitar.
