DESCRIPTION:
Since it's become somewhat difficult to obtain an original 1959 Gibson Les Paul, the Gibson Les Paul '59 Reissue VOS, also known as the R9, has become a good substitute.
The Gibson Les Paul '59 Reissue or R9 is based closely on existing 1959 Les Paul Standard models, with a lot of attention given to construction techniques and glues, carefully reproduced PAF-style custom pickups, and aniline-dye tinted nitrocellulose lacquer finishes strongly evoking the original colour schemes, however faded they may now have become.
This 2014 Gibson Les Paul '59 Reissue VOS R9 sports a Lemonburst finish over nicely figured and matched Flame Maple. It is in really good condition, and comes with the original case and Certificate of Authenticity. It's got only very minor wear. These instruments come with the hardware slightly 'antiqued' - they're not beaten up as a 'relic' would be, but instead the tints are faded and the nickel hardware has some natural tarnish.Its relatively light weight - 8.5lbs or 3.9kg - makes it much more comfortable to wear and play for longer periods. The neck profile is full, but not overly so.
The original brown and pink hard shell case is included, and contains the original 'Custom Logo' pickguard and switch cavity cover, Certificate of Authenticity, hang tags and warranty cards.
