DESCRIPTION:
The Collings C10 Short Scale Western Sunburst, is a 'custom' version of the C10, with a short 24.875 inch (632mm) scale (SS) and Western Shaded or Sunburst (SB) top finish. This example dates to 2014 at the Collings shop in Austin Texas, and is in very good, clean condition.
The top is Sitka Spruce, the back, sides, body blocks, linings and neck are Honduran Mahogany, with Ebony for the head plate, bridge and unbound fingerboard. The bridge plate inside the top is Maple. The nut and saddle are bone. The Collings logo and, headstock flourish inlay and position marker dots are Mother of Pearl, while the rosette features a Paua or Abalone ring. The pickguard is a faux tortoise, attached to the top finish.
Collings guitars tend to be extremely well built and finished and this is no exception. On this Collings C10 SS SB, fret and finish wear are very light, the proportions are very comfortable and the sound is full and well balanced. This guitar might sound even better than it looks.
A set of K&K Pure Mini pickups have been installed to the bridge plate, and output is via an endpin jack.
The original black arched top Collings plated hard shell case is included.

The small oval neck heel is ideally suited to the optional cutaway, which allows unrestricted access to the upper frets.
