Here is an interesting piece, a Bandura Prima from the 1970's. It is in very good condition with some beautiful inlay work. Gig bag and tuning key are included.
The bandura (Ukrainian: бандура) is a Ukrainian plucked-string folk instrument blending zither and lute elements. Known as a kobza until the 1940s, early banduras (circa 1700) had 5 to 12 strings and resembled lutes. By the mid-20th century, they had expanded to 56-68 strings.
Lute-like string instruments have been in use since the 6th century, with Byzantine records mentioning kitharas. 11th-century frescoes at Saint Sophia's Cathedral depict similar instruments. These early instruments were likely known as "husli."
A traditional bandura typically features a back carved from a single piece of wood like willow, poplar, cherry, or maple. The instrument has evolved over the years. Chromatic strings began to replace diatonic strings in 1920s, with modern concert banduras incorporating rapid re-tuning mechanisms from the late 1950s. From the 1960s onwards glued-back and fiberglass-backed versions became more common. The soundboard is usually spruce, and the wrest planks and bridge are made from hardwoods such as birch.
