The Arnold Hoyer Solist Archtop Guitar (in English 'Soloist'), a full bodied, solid carved top and back archtop model, appeared in the 1950's and was built into the 1960's, with a number of variations. This example was built during the 1950s at Tennelohe near Erlangen, Germany.
Originally a fully acoustic instrument, this Hoyer Solist plays well, and during the 1950's had a common modification added - a 'Roger' brand add-on pickup set - one at the neck and one at the bridge - with the controls mounted on the pickguard. The included cable is a now-rare European style, and might be updated for practical reasons.
The original hard shell case is included, with its zip-on cover.
Hoyer is in business again, though their lineup does not include archtops like this.
