The Marshall JTM-1 Offset 1-Watt Amp was built as a low powered version of the JTM45 Offset, for that model's 50th anniversary. It features the distinctive and short-lived 'Offset' cabinet design and 'coffin' Marshall logo, and adds a 0.1 watt low-power mode to further reduce loudness.
Produced in very limited numbers and aimed for home and studio use, the Marshall JTM-1 Offset 1-Watt Amp has a deserved reputation for excellent tone. The cabinet contains a single 10-inch Celestion G10F-15 speaker, and the combination produces more low end than one might expect from a 10.
The original Marshall JTM45 was based on the circuitry of the classic Fender Bassman amps that were prized in the UK but practically unavailable due to steep import duties. These Marshall amps were not direct Fender clones and had their own distinctive tone. And they were loud!
As power levels closed in on and then passed 45 watts (which also meant increasing weight), Marshall and Fender independently decided to separate the heads and cabinets and move away from the 'combo' design that had been used since amps were introduced. The classic full and half-stack setups quickly followed.
This Marshall JTM-1 Offset was built at the Bletchly dates to 2013 and is in excellent physical and electrical condition. The original user manual is included. It is a beautiful piece of gear, with sounds to match.
