Gibson ES Les Paul Light Burst 2014 [USED]

Here is a 2014 Gibson ES Les Paul light burst from the now shuttered Memphis plant in Tennessee. The ES Les Paul combined classic Les Paul aesthetics with the immensely successful thinline ES concept. This differs from the Florentine models, which are a heavily chambered Les Paul with dual F-holes. The ES Les Paul l is now discontinued, making it a rare gem for collectors.

This very clean example sports a AAA figured laminated maple top, with a Light Burst finish. The neck is one-piece mahogany, with very little wear of any type, to the frets, fingerboard. It includes Kluson Deluxe type tuners, with a traditional yet locking ABR-1 type tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece. Electronics start with MHS humbuckers, emulating the original Gibson PAF pickups, a pickup selector and individual volume and tone controls. The output jack is on the lower treble side. Overall, this guitar plays very well, with the action currently set nice and low.

Described by Gibson as the ‘perfect marriage of Les Paul and ES-335’, the ES Les Paul yields ‘powerful tones and a lightweight playing feel’. It is one of the lightest quality electrics available. Lighter guitars include the Fender Telecaster Thinline, the Gibson ES-330 or Epiphone Casino, however these are all very different instruments. If you need the sound of a Les Paul but also need or appreciate lighter weight, look no further. This is a well built, well thought out instrument, with classic lines, excellent playability, and a great sound.
