Built in Fullerton California with a neck pocket date of June 5, 2005, this G&L Legacy sports a Fullerton Red finish and a design very reminiscent of Leo Fender's groundbreaking, classic designs.
G&L - "George and Leo" - was founded in 1980 by Leo Fender and George Fullerton in a plant on Fender Avenue in Fullerton, California, where the company still operates. Leo Fender died in March of 1991, and George Fullerton on July 4th 2009.
Introduced in 1992, the G&L Legacy is a three-pickup "S" bodied model with a Swamp Ash body and V-profile, larger fretted Maple neck, very much in the tradition of Leo's very successful designs. The bridge is the refined 'Dual Fulcrum' or two-post model with considerably less friction than the six-screw design introduced in 1954. The original Alnico pickups have been replaced with noise-cancelling Kinman HX models. At the head there is a set of Sperzel non-locking, short post tuners.
The body is finished in 'Fullerton Red', the neck has a clear, tinted coating. Overall this guitar is in very good, clean condition, plays well and is very quiet in terms of single-coil hum.
The original rectangular G&L 'Guitars by Leo' plated G&G hard shell case is included and contains the trem arm, Certificate of Authenticity, warranty card, hang tags, allen keys for bridge adjustments and the original pickup covers.
