DESCRIPTION:
The Fender Telecaster is arguably one of the most significant advances in the development of electric guitars; not the very first, but the first successfully mass produced solidbody electric. It's certainly been very influential, spawning countless imitators and informing most of Fender's later designs. The design suits its purpose so well that in over 70 years of production, most changes have been relatively minor.
This Fender Telecaster Blonde All Original, is built during 1968 in Fullerton and in very good original condition, with its original hard shell case. It's fairly rare to see examples of these in this good, original condition.
This Fender Telecaster Blonde has clearly been used, with light pressure marks and light checking to the body finish, and some natural play wear to the bass edge of the neck from the first to seventh frets. The fingerboard finish is in great shape, with little yellowing. Fret wear is light, and the guitar plays well and cleanly.
This guitar was built about three years into CBS's ownership of Fender, past the transitional phase. The tuners are the Schaller models that Fender adopted for some time, replacing the Kluson models, the neck plate has the F stamp and the decal has a much more visible Fender logo. The blonde toning to the finish is less transparent than the early versions where the wood grain was visible.
