DESCRIPTION:
Built from 2001 into 2003, the Gibson Tony Iommi Signature SG electric guitar model featured a Mahogany body with 1961 style contours, a Mahogany neck with unbound Ebony fingerboard, large frets and Mother of Pearl cross inlays, and a pair of matching signature pickups. It was available in Black, though other runs offered traditional Cherry finishes.
This Gibson Tony Iommi Signature SG dates to October 12th 2002, and is in great shape with some light play wear to the finish and very light fret wear. The placement of the strap button behind the upper horn is specific to the later models - the early ones placed it on the heel in the normal SG position. The tuners are Grover Roto-Matics, and the body carries a standard Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop tailpiece.
The electronics include Tony Iommi Signature pickups which are similar in construction and output to the Angus Young signature models. This includes thicker wire leading to 15.5k resistance, and combines both Ceramic and Alnico II magnets. These lead to standard SG wiring.
The original hard shell case is included and contains the truss rod adjustment tool.
