The S-8 8-String Multiscale pairs a solid Mahogany body with a quilted maple cap and a Maple neck with an Ebony multiscale or \"fan fret\" fingerboard.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOn the S-8 8-String treble side, the scale length is 25 inches, on the bass, 29 inches. The headstock is arranged with three bass tuners on one side, and five guitar tuners on the treble side.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor hardware, there are Gotoh tuners, and eight individual saddles placed for each string’s scale length. The lower saddles are selected to permit the much heavier gauge of a bass string. These instruments are wired in stereo, with two separate outputs, one for the Guitar pair of Dimarzio pickups, and one for the Bass side with Bartolini pickups. Each side has a separate circuit with separate outputs. I experimented with many different combinations of scales and widths, and found these to be the most comfortable to play for extended periods of time, with the best possible tone, and excellent intonation.
