The finish is in overall good condition with light play wear.  Fret wear is light to moderate at the lower positions.  The repaired top crack is the result of a minor impact, glued and cleated at The Twelfth Fret repair shop. The repair is structurally solid, pressure marks from the impact remain. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAn under-saddle pickup system has been added, with the battery bag attached to the underside of the top below the fingerboard tag, the volume control tucked under the treble side soundhole, and with an end-pin output jack.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eMaterials and Construction\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUsing Martin's standard D-body template, the Martin D-35 pairs a Sitka Spruce top with Indian Rosewood for the sides, three-piece back, and head plate.  The body blocks, linings, and neck are Mahogany, with Ebony for the bridge and bound fingerboard.   \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs a post-1985 model, this D-35 has an adjustable truss rod, accessed through the soundhole. The pickguard is glued to the finish, not to the top so it's not as susceptible to the \"classic\" Martin top crack as the pickguard and top expand and contract at different rates. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe tuners are the original Martin-branded Ping models.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eAbout the Martin D-35\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMartin launched the D-35 in 1965 to address dwindling stocks of Brazilian Rosewood, caused by Brazil’s embargo on the export of raw timber logs.  The D-35's three-piece back allowed use of narrower sections unsuitable for two-piece backs during the industry shift to Indian Rosewood. For Martin, the final pieces of Brazilian were used as late as 1972 while other builders ran out by 1967.
