The workmanship and finishing are of the highest level, as are the hardware selections.  This is a fully acoustic instrument, there are no installed electronics. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWear is very light throughout.   There is light fret wear but the varnish finish has been very well kept. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe original, hand built in Canada and very good Main Stage hardshell fiberglass touring case is included.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eHeiden A-Style Standard F-Hole Mandolin Construction and Materials\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis Heiden A-Style Standard, F-hole mandolin uses three main woods:  Adirondack Red Spruce, Sugar Maple, and Ebony.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe top is Adirondack Red Spruce, and as Heiden is well known for reclaiming woods from various sources (often architectural) it is very possible that it came from such a source and as such would be well over 100 years old.  This would increase stability, lower moisture content and crystallize the wood's resin content. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe back is Sugar Maple, carved from a single piece.  The sides and neck are also Sugar Maple.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe fingerboard, bridge and finger-rest are all handmade from Ebony. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor hardware, a top-grade set of Schaller GrandTune mandolin tuners with ivoroid buttons were chosen. These are some of the very best available.
