For 2009,  the company shifted to the 'Limited Run' series, which abandoned set dates and production goals.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSpecifically featured here as Week 29 of that 2007 series, this Reverse Flying V stands as one of the most audacious and collectible modern designs in Gibson’s history. Flipped 180 degrees from its traditional 1958 silhouette, it pairs unmistakably unconventional aesthetic lines with foundational Gibson tone.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eCondition and Playability\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis Gibson Reverse Flying V is one of 400 built for Week 29, but they are not marked in sequence as the  2008 'Guitar of the Month' series was.   The instrument itself is in very good, clean complete and all original condition with its original case.  Fret and finish wear are very light.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe reverse V body takes a few moments to get used to, but its light weight and relatively short construction make it very comfortable to play.  Aesthetics aside - it has all the tone and playability of a standard V.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSold with its original hard shell case and documentation.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eConstruction and Materials \u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs with the 2008 Gibson Reverse Explorer we've recently seen, the 2007 Gibson Reverse Flying V stays close to the original materials and construction, with the same types of visual changes.  Obviously, the body direction is reversed and the pickguard is changed to match that.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe distinctive split, open-V headstock comes from Gibson's archive of unbuilt prototypes, specifically what would have been the 1958 Futura (along with the V, Explorer and Moderne).  While the Futura never made it past a mock-up, its headstock was used on the very first few 1958 Explorers before the 'Hockey Stick' head was adopted. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Gibson Reverse Flying V uses Mahogany (as with reissues, the originals used \"Korina\" or African Black Limba wood) for the body and neck, and Indian Rosewood for the fingerboard (again, the originals were Brazilian Rosewood).  There is a black head plate with the Gibson logo in gold lettering.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHardware is straightforward and almost identical to a standard Flying V.  There's a set of Gibson Deluxe tuners at the head, a V shaped string plate at the tail and matching ferrules on the back for string mounts.  A standard Tune-o-Matic bridge is installed, and all metal parts are gold plated.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe electronics are simpler than usual - a pair of 57 Classic humbuckers, a selector switch, volume control, and a side-mounted output jack.  \u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ctable style=\"width: 100%;
