DESCRIPTION:
Here is a Gibson ES-335 TD Semi Hollowbody electric guitar from 1974.
The ES-335TD was an immediate hit when first introduced, as a thinline, two pickup, double cutaway archtop electric. It addressed many of the volume needs of professional guitarists while retaining the classic archtop tone profile. Over the years, the specs have changed somewhat, but the model has remained in constant production and has been seen and heard on countless stages and studios.
This example was built during the Norlin era. It features a laminated maple body with a solid maple center block and dual humbucking pickups. The neck is built of 3 pieces of Maple, rather than Mahogany, and has a volute, typical of the period.
This guitar is in good overall condition with minor cosmetic wear. The pickups have been changed to DiMarzio’s and there is a mini toggle switch added for the neck pickup. This switch seems to be series parallel option. The original coil tap switch is inactive. It plays cleanly and comes with the original hardshell case.
