The top remains exceptionally clean, while the back exhibits typical light buckle rash and minor surface marks consistent with a well-loved, naturally broken-in instrument. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe frets show minor wear but have plenty of life left, and the guitar plays beautifully across the entire neck. Weighing in at a highly desirable 8.975 lbs, it balances perfectly on a strap and offers immense natural sustain.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eConstruction and Materials \u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGibson closely replicates the original 1959 specifications on these top end instruments.  The tops are bookmatched figured maple,  mated with a single-piece Mahogany back.  The neck is one piece of Mahogany, with a long tenon extending into the neck pickup cavity.  The bound fingerboard has the classic cellulose nitrate trapezoidal poition markers and is a piece of Madagascar Rosewood doing its best to look like Brazilian.  However, the serial number of this guitar and the grain structure of the board strongly suggest Madagascar.   Betweeb January and May of 2003, Gibson legally used certified stocks of Brazilian Rosewood on specific Historic Reissue models.  Restrictions then tighened and Madagascar Rosewood was used. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor hardware, the headstock carries a set of Kluson Deluxe style tuners with plastic keystone buttons.  A standard wired ABR-1 bridge and tailpiece set are installed on the body.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe electronics are not entirely original.  The pots have been changed, and the pickups are modern 'Patent Applied For' reissues.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ctable width=\"100%\" style=\"width: 100%;
