Built in Japan between 1988 and 1989, the Model 5A 1H features a neck-through maple construction, 24-fret compound-radius fingerboard, locking tremolo, and a single high-output bridge humbucker for maximum sustain, speed, and aggressive tone.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDesigned during the height of the shred era, the 5A delivers everything players expect from a premium '80s superstrat: fast playability, exceptional upper-fret access, rock-solid tuning stability, and the unmistakable Charvel feel that made these guitars famous.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis Charvel 5A1H features a maple neck with poplar body, rosewood board.  It was originally black, but refinished in \"Royal Purple Metallic Nitro\". The original tremolo has been replaced with a Gotoh trem. The original nut has been replaced with a newer Graph Tech nut. The orginal Kahler Deluxe Pro String Lock behind the nut has had its thumb clamps removed but they are in the case. The original Jackson high gain pickup has been replaced with an EMG humbucker.
